3-year post-doctoral position

A postdoctoral position (one year renewable 2 times) is available in the team of Pr Véronique Paquis-Flucklinger at IRCAN Institute (UMR CNRS 7284 INSERM U1081 Université Côte d’Azur) to investigate the mechanisms of action and in vivo proof of concept of drugs for treating mitochondrial diseases. Mainly based on a repositioning drug strategy, the efficacy of compounds will be tested in iPSC and mouse models generated in the team, with as final goal to prepare a clinical trial. The successful applicant will be working in the research team at IRCAN Institute in collaboration with the Reference Center for Mitochondrial Diseases at Nice University Hospital.

We welcome enquiries from prospective applicants with a good background in mitochondrial research. Ideal candidate will have PhD in Biological Sciences and an experience in work with mice and/or iPSCs. The project being mainly targeted on the cardiomyopathies observed in these pathologies, background in the analysis of cardiac phenotypes would be an additional asset.
