« To resect or not to resect, that is the question »
Abstract: The formation of breaks in the DNA molecule challenges the survival and the fitness of cells. It is not enough to ensure that repairs take place, but that is performed in the more faithful way possible. Thus, there is a very complex regulatory network that guarantee that repair of DNA breaks is carried out in the best way available depending on internal and external cues. Here, I will discussed new data from the lab that show that there is a coordination between neighboring cells in the activation of different repair mechanisms to ensure genomic stability.
