From 15 to 19 December, IRCAN welcomed five middle school students (3ème) as part of their work experience programme. Selected for the quality and motivation of their applications, these middle school students had the opportunity to discover how a biological research institute works and the diversity of the professions that contribute to its daily activities.
During this week-long immersion, the students were able to talk with researchers, engineers, PhD students, technicians and administrative staff, giving them a concrete understanding of the different stages of the research process, possible training paths and essential roles of support functions that underpin scientific activity.
This initiative is part of IRCAN’s commitment to promoting scientific culture, guiding young people in their career choices and contributing to the emergence of future vocations.
IRCAN would like to warmly thank all the colleagues involved for their commitment, availability and the passion with which they shared their profession: Aldine and Renaud (E. Rottinger team), Soline and Etienne (C. Féral team), Fred (PEMED), Nadir (E. Gilson team), Aurélien (G. Cristofari team), Christian (Genomed), Clément (Histology platform), Caroline and Thomas (management division), Audrey, Sandy, Manon, Philippe, Gilles, Roser and Cercina (G. Pagès team). Thanks also to Cercina and Carole for organising this welcome event.
