IRCAN is proud to announce an outstanding outcome in the 2026 Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR) funding call, confirming the scientific excellence of its researchers and the growing national visibility of the institute.

In the 2026 ANR call, IRCAN researchers secured more than EUR 2.1 million in funding across multiple projects led by Eirini Trompouki, Gael Cristofari, Gilles Pagès, Julien Cherfils-Vicini, and Dmitry Bulavin, with additional participation by Gianni Liti and Barbara Seitz-Polski in collaborative ANR projects.

Beyond the ANR, IRCAN researchers also obtained more than EUR 1.4 million through highly competitive national funding programmes, including an ARC Labellisation awarded to Eirini Trompouki, an FRM Labellisation awarded to Julien Cherfils-Vicini, an FRM Prematuration grant awarded to Véronique Paquis-Flucklinger, a Fondation de France grant awarded to Patrick Brest, and a Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation grant awarded to Laetitia Seguin and Jean Albrengues.

Together, these awards represent more than EUR 3.4 million in new competitive funding obtained in a single year. This remarkable achievement reflects the creativity, ambition, and excellence of IRCAN researchers and highlights the strength of the institute’s research across cancer, aging, immunology, metabolism, genomics, and translational medicine.

Competitive grants such as those from the ANR, ARC, FRM, Fondation de France, and the Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation are awarded through rigorous national and international peer review and are widely recognized as major indicators of scientific excellence. Beyond supporting ambitious research programmes, these awards will strengthen IRCAN’s capacity to develop innovative technologies, foster interdisciplinary collaborations, attract talented young scientists, and accelerate the translation of fundamental discoveries into improved prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of human diseases.
